Representitive Numbers

And now, another Fact of Congress
What’s in a number?
Take the number 65. That’s how many members were in the House of Representatives in the very first Congress.
And each of those 65 were responsible to only 30,000 voters back home
Well today the House of Representatives is made up of 435 members, each of whom has to represent the interests of 650,000 people.
That means that today’s members of congress have to work much harder to reach their constituents. Good thing there’s TV and Radio!
Of course, it’s also much harder for them to hear what you have to say, when there’s so many of you!
One way to make sure you’re heard is to join a group that shares a common interest or goal. That way, many voices become one that is very difficult to ignore!
And that’s another fact of Congress
